One of the things that I learned the hard way is that not everyone is meant to be in your life forever. I have had some friends in the past that I actually chose to say goodbye to.
I’m the type of person that will call sometime a friend immidiately. I learned and forgot a lesson in the course of a few Friendships, and the lesson is this. No matter who you are you are always going to be friends with imperfect people, because all people are imperfect.
However, it’s important that you be careful around people that are so hurt that they can’t focus on things that are good for them. It is important that you are there for your friends to listen when they have a problem and are hurting, but when that hurt turns into a need to gossip or a way.of emotionally harming themselves. It may be time for you to actually let them go because people influence people even though you may not realize it. Your loved ones may see a change in you that you’re not aware of.
I am grateful that I now have strong relationships with people that know they can talk about their problems, and not let their problems fully consume them to the point of bringing others down by talking about them or sticking with a relationship they know is not healthy for them because they feel like that relationship is their only option.
