Anxious for Nothing: Praying Through Pain

Thinking about others

You say, “I am allowed to do anything” —but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial. Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.

1 Corinthians 10:23‭-‬24

Telling Jesus all your worries

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4‭-‬7

When we are in pain we should:

  1. Go to the Lord. He wants us to talk to him
  2. Recognize that his purposes are higher than ours
  3. Be confident that his grace is sufficient for our pain
