What Does it Mean to Hunger and Thirst?
It’s part of the human experience.
Why is there happiness in being hungry and thirsty?
- It’s a sign of life
- It’s a sign of health. People who are sick and dying will not be hungry
- We should be hungry to be right with God
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

A prayer To Hunger And Thirst
“O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am
painfully conscious of my
need for further grace. am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee; /
long to be filled with
longing; I thirst to be made
more thirsty still.”
