Seven years ago tonight, I saw Jersey Boys. On October 12th, when I saw the show for my second time at the Hollywood Pantages Theater, I was asked by one of the fellas in the castAre you going to see the show in San Diego?I told him no, and I thought I was telling the truth. My mom, aunt and I had tickets to a concert in San Diego the night before and yes we attended Jersey Boys at the Civic Theater.
I remember thinking that the show was wonderful as usual, but I also remember feeling so bad for the cast because the audience seemed to be a low energy group of people.
After the show, I had to go to the stage door to see the cast. Earlier that day I had tweeted one of the cast members to asked where the stage door was, and when I got to the stage door, the only cast member was the gentleman who played Frankie Valli. I was a bit embarrassed because I went to the show in a wheelchair, and I felt like this handsome gentleman looked at me funny, not in a mean way, but in a way that saidWhat happened? I saw you walking two weeks ago. That embarrassment lasted only a few minutes. I got out of the chair, stood up with my walker and this picture was taken. After I got back in my chair I kissed him goodbye and walked away with a smile.
