Answering this week’s life group ice breaker questions

What is something that I am mourning as a result of the pandemic?

I know that the church is not a building, but I miss going to church. No miss having to get up early in the morning to get ready. I miss my dad making me coffee at 6:30! In the morning, because I need my coffee with my cereal. I miss my band brothers and my choir brothers and sisters.

I also miss everyone I would see at my favorite venues, Sterling’s upstairs at the Federal and Feinstein’s at Vitello’s and lastly but not least I miss going to the Theatre. I was supposed to see Hamilton, A Chorus Line and Next to Normal this year.

What are the three things that I am planning to do when I am able to go out again?

I’m going to get my hair cut and colored.

I’m going to buy tickets to shows and I’m going to be able to sing in church again.

Where is God: in the pandemic

Where is God in the Pandemic?

He is where he always is, doing what he always does. God is demonstrating his Devine attributes and authority through:

1. His general revelation and common Grace.

God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon. Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening. Their words aren’t heard, their voices aren’t recorded, But their silence fills the earth: unspoken truth is spoken everywhere. God makes a huge dome for the sun—a superdome! The morning sun’s a new husband leaping from his honeymoon bed, The daybreaking sun an athlete racing to the tape.

Psalm 19:1‭-‬4

“You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.

Matthew 5:43‭-‬47

“In the generations before us, God let all the different nations go their own way. But even then he didn’t leave them without a clue, for he made a good creation, poured down rain and gave bumper crops. When your bellies were full and your hearts happy, there was evidence of good beyond your doing.” Talking fast and hard like this, they prevented them from carrying out the sacrifice that would have honored them as gods—but just barely.

Acts 14:16‭-‬18

2. Through the lives of individuals

Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.

2 Peter 3:8‭-‬9

So, my very dear friends, don’t get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures.

James 1:16‭-‬18

3. The ministry of his church

Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.

James 1:26‭-‬27

Dear friends, do you think you’ll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, “Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!” and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup—where does that get you? Isn’t it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense?

James 2:14‭-‬17

This is how we’ve come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for our fellow believers, and not just be out for ourselves. If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God’s love? It disappears. And you made it disappear.

1 John 3:16‭-‬17

Esther Project post

Easter Sunday was the most casual Easter Sunday. I wore a long sleeve yellow shirt and jeans.

Today I’m repeating yesterdays jeans and my dark green sexy Basic T shirt. I dressed it up with my grandma’s pearl cross and a black beaded necklace that was made for me by a cousin

My Story

Hi everyone my name is Marie Nicole I am 38 years old and I was born 11 weeks premature. As a result of my very early birthday I developed a brain hemorrhage and spent the first 3 months of my life in the N.I.C.U. at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; during which time I had my first operation to repair the hemorrhage. When I was one year old I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. As a result of my diagnosis I was put into physical therapy and had what I refer to as my. “Miracle operation when I was 7. The operation allowed me to began walking with a walker a few weeks after the operation Therapy was a weekly part of my life until I was 13.At this point in my life I told my mom that I had had enough of therapy and I wasn’t going anymore because it “sucked” As a result of my attitude and rebellion walking eventually became difficult and as a result i had to have another operation and learn how to walk again at the age of 15

Fast forward to December of 2009. I was 26 and about to end my college career. I was 185 pounds and I used a power chair to Get around campus and I was only able to walk short distances at this time.

I knew that something needed to change so I committed to getting fit and healthy and began my health journey on January 5th 2010

One year late I was blessed with two amazing opportunities! One was a 6 week stint in physical therapy during which time I learned how to walk long distances and the other opportunity was being

selected to be on a tv show called Live Big with Ali Vincent. While I was being motivated and encouraged by the new friends that I had made I trained for and completed my first 5k.In 2014 when the show ended I felt the desire to encourage other the way I had been encouraged to live a health life.

In November of 2014 my cousin introduced me to a friend of hers who was health and fitness coach in February 2015 I became a health and fitness coach and it is a blessing to serve my community #coachmarienicole.com

Last Day of 37

This is what the last day of being 37 looks like as you can tell by that sentence alone , I’m not a woman who believes in hiding her age. I was expecting to have more of a struggle in this life then I have had. I’m blessed to be where I am.in life right now. I’m blessed because God gave me a voice to use for singing and speaking. He gave me two legs that work, they work slower than average but they work.
I’m thankful for my eyes because.they are able to see the faces of people I Love. I’m grateful for my ears because they can appreciate beautiful music and I’m.grateful for my arms and hands because they can hug the people I love. I’m grateful for life all around#Zimmerpeeps

This is Jesus: Jesus secures my Enterity

I believe Jesus dIed on the Cross for me.

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18

Jesus Secures My Eternity When…

I believe He Died On The Cross For Me.

“The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.”—1 Corinthians 1:18

Iturn From My Sin And Turn Toward Jesus

“Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’ But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”—Luke 18:10

I accept him as my savior and Lord

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.”

—John 1:12

Memory Verse

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

—John 3:16

I trust Jess for my Eternity

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going. ‘No, we don’t know, Lord,’ Thomas said. ‘We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?’ Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’”

John 14:1-6

There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

—Acts 4:12
