Because of technology my Bible study group has been meeting non stop since we’ve physically been apart. We’ve even made a trendy tile video and put it on YouTube. I don’t think it’s right that so many people are protesting going to church, because right now it’s unsafe but I also can’t wait for the day I get to hug my friends again. Until then I’m good with the safe at home so I won’t be part of the problem, but rather.part of the salutation

Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there. Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord ,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.” Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat!” He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again. Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God. There he came to a cave, where he spent the night. But the Lord said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” Elijah replied, “I have zealously served the Lord God Almighty. But the people of Israel have broken their covenant with you, torn down your altars, and killed every one of your prophets. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.” “Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” He replied again, “I have zealously served the Lord God Almighty. But the people of Israel have broken their covenant with you, torn down your altars, and killed every one of your prophets. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.” Then the Lord told him, “Go back the same way you came, and travel to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive there, anoint Hazael to be king of Aram. Then anoint Jehu grandson of Nimshi to be king of Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from the town of Abel-meholah to replace you as my prophet.
1 Kings 19:3-16

4. Forget God
God’s Remedy

1. Gossip- Gossip is actually a form of telling people that you are bord with your life. I have to be honest not to long ago I participated in Gossip by listening to it. That is something that needs to be remembered
It does not matter if you’re sitting with someone listening to them talk you are participating in Gossip.
2 Being treated like I’m still a little kid. I’m working on changing how people see me as much as I can. In my experience, part of the reason that I’ve been seen as a girl is because of my own lack of attention to the way I dress and carry myself, so I have made it a point to be more intentional and mindful about how I wear my clothes and accessories. I also think that it is important when want to stop being treated as a girl, to stop using the word girl so much. I think it’s completely acceptable to use the word lady or woman as in
Hey Ladies how are you?
I think that for me personally, having the need for so much assistance from others is the reason why I am still often seen as a girl, and I understand where my loved ones are coming from, but it still bothers me sometimes.
Last but not least my third pet peeve is when someone finds a reason to make fun of someone else. I honestly feel bad for the person doing the teasing, because they may be in a situation where they are being teased themselves.
Something someone told me that One of the things that automatically come to mind is when my friend John called me a Badass, but recently I was told that I was amazing and brave. These are 2 complements that I’ve always had a hard time accepting because i more often then not say to myself
I could have done better
Anyone who sees me as Brave and amazing is someone pretty special.
Lessons from Martha and Mary
As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:38-42
Signs we are distracted.
1 We question God’s character
But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”
Luke 10:40
Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”
Mark 4:38
2. We are worried and upset
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
3. We fall into the comparison trap.
Where is God when we are distracted?
He is where he Always is, doing what he always does.
- He is with you
- He’s calling us to cast our cares on him.
