Disability Pride Month

Happy Disability Pride Month Everyone! This is the month that we use to celebrate who we are and the contributions to society that each one of us has made.  We deserve to be seen as people who are brilliant, talented, creative, beautiful, smart and competitive. We have often been treated  by society as an after thought, and under this current administration that continues to be the case.  If you consider yourself an ally of people with disabilities please amplify  our voices by sharing our content and standing in solidarity with us not just this month but always.

Celebrating a Leader

Last night was beautiful, celebrating the Executive Director of Lanterman Regional Center, Melinda Sullivan.  Melinda, thank you for your leadership and  Mentorship over the year. In February of 2024, you surprised me with a phone call,  and during that conversation, you asked me if I would be interested in being a board member.  You even made things easy for me and came to my home for an interview. I had no idea that this opportunity would be the next step in taking pride in myself as a disabled woman while helping others.  Thank you for believing in me.
