Join BBS

My Life changed for the better when I joined Boundless Babe Society, AKA BBS. I attended my first Rollette’s Experience in July of 2021. It was the first time I had attended an event where there were women who looked me.

.It was not until 2020 that I began my journey of self-acceptance and that I started looking at myself and seeing the beauty that God made. The weekend I attended Rollette’s Experience, I discovered that I wasn’t alone. I had been living like I was the only one to experience the things that I do on a daily basis. The weekend helped me to connect with other women who share the same or similar experiences to me. I would encourage any woman who has a disability and uses a wheelchair to join boundless babe Society, because when you have a community you no longer feel alone.

When you are a member of BBS you are given tons of support. The first thing I will tell you about this program is that you get what you put into the program. There are many more things that I will tell you in this blog post. We are a group of women who Focus on supporting and lifting each other up. As part of this program, we have group meetings via Zoom once a month. In addition to these meetings, you also have the opportunity to have a one-on-one 20 minute Zoom call with your mentor. When you have your phone call with your mentor, she asks you what your goals are for the month and how she can be encouraging and supporting you in achieving your goals. In addition to having a mentor you are also offered the opportunity to have an accountability partner. I cannot recommend strongly enough how valuable having an accountability partner is. You are able to build a friendship and talk to your accountability partner as much as you want! I personally have built a schedule with my accountability partner to check in with her once a week for our big check-in but I have to be honest we talk every day. 😊 she’s like my sister. As parts of our check-ins we ask each other what our goals are, how our meetings went with our mentors then we just shoot the breeze and talk about what’s going on in life. Having an accountability partner is one of the most important things you can do as part of this program because it helps you to know that you are not alone on a daily basis.

Last but not least, when you are part of this program you get put into a group me chat and this allows you to stay connected with everyone in the program. I would highly recommend ladies that you contact the Rollette’s and see if being part of BBS is the right thing for you. My personal opinion is that you should join if you are a woman in the disability community who feels like she needs community. Sisterhood is everything!

D. Scott Eads and the Swing Dolls

I am 100% serious when I say that this man could sing the phone book and I would buy a ticket! Every moment about my friend Scott’s show last night was phenomenal!

That being said, the standout moments to me were:

  • We Need a little Christmas. That song took me back to junior high when I learned it for our first Christmas concert
  • Scott performed a beautifully sung version of Twas the night before Christmas
  • The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth, which was originally performed by Bing Crosby and David Bowie in 1977. Scott performed this with his friend Todd Murry
  • Lastly, the songs that he sang with a group of women called The Swing Dolls was amazing

If you get the opportunity, you need to go see Scott. You will not be disappointed. This man could sing the phonebook, and I would buy a ticket to his show.

Meals with Jesus: Free Lunch

10 When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done. Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida, 11 but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing. 12 Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.” 13 He replied, “You give them something to eat.” They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.” 14 (About five thousand men were there.) But he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15 The disciples did so, and everyone sat down. 16 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. 17 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. Luke 9:10‭-‬17

Three Lessons from this free Lunch

  • Jesus has compassion for people in need.
  • Jesus uses people to accomplish his plan. Key phrase: You feed them
  • Where God guides, he provides

Three questions for personal application

1. What do I think is too big for God to handle?

2. What do I think is too little for God to use?

3. What will I do because I believe God will provide?

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33

One Minute after you die: The horrors of Hell

19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ 25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ 27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ 29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ 30 “ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ 31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ” Luke 16:19‭-‬31 NIV

1. Jesus believed in hell, and it played a significant role in his teaching and mission because he does not want us to go there.

2. Hell is a place of agony and torment

3. We get one lifetime to repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. That’s it. When this life is over and we have not received his salvation, we are separated from him.

What we need to be aware of

1. There are eternal consequences for the way we live.

1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
Romans 12:1

1. We worship what we love most

2. We will worship eternally whatever we love most in life

3. We become like what we worship.

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9

One Minute after you Die: We die, then what?

What you believe about death and eternity will determine how you live your life

What do we know about death?

  • Death is certain

27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
Hebrews 9:27

  • The soul and the body separate
  • Eventually, we will face judgment

The White throne judgement.

Those who do not believe will be at the white throne judgement, and they will be judged on what they have done. This is found in Revelations 20

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:11‭-‬15 NIV

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
2 Corinthians 5:10 NIV

The questions we must answer now

  • Can I trust God with my life? The answer to this is YES!!!

  • What step of faith am I betting my eternity on?

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9

Jonah Tries to run God

Memory Verse

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8‭-‬9

This change of plans greatly upset Jonah and he was very angry

Jonah 4:1

I get angry with God when…

1. He doesn’t do what only he can do

2. When I feel abandoned by him.

3. When I don’t deserve what’s happening to me.

4. When I compare myself to others.

5. When I don’t understand God’s heart for the Lost.

Jonah Tries to Run God

Wow

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Philippians 2:5‭-‬8 NIV

13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
John 13:13‭-‬17

11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
1 John 4:11‭-‬12 N

The Big Idea

Be Love so others will Believe

Three ways that Jesus Loved.

1. Jesus loved those who could do nothing for him.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
Matthew 25:34‭-‬36

2. Who others had written off

10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Matthew 9:10‭-‬13

3. He loved people who loved him imperfectly.

15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” 16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” 17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.
John 21:15‭-‬17
