Dreaming

Allow me to share a dream with you.  A dance studio where I train is decorated with posters from a number of my favorite musicals , I’m officially dreaming about someday, somehow being the first Elphaba who is actually green AKA has cerebral palsy And I also think that Mary Delgado in Jersey boys needs to be represented by somebody in the disability community because we are the toughest chicks around.

John Lloyd Young

On Tuesday August 20th I had the pleasure of seeing my dear friend John Lloyd Young at the Catalina jazz club. As usual he was amazing.  I would be lying if I said I didn’t blush like a teenager when I see him on stage. The part of the  show I love the most is the meet and greet after the show.  It’s always wonderful catching up with him  . He is sweet and kind and genuinely makes an effort to find out what is going on in the life of his fans whom he calls his friends.

The Heart of Christmas: A Review of John Lloyd Young’s Christmas concert

It’s been one year

Omg! One year ago today is when my life officially changed and became what it is today Read my story

I’m so excited about today! The advocate in me is back During the beautiful craziness that was Rollettes Experience on July 21st, I got a voicemail from the Regional center that I am a client of, telling me that my counselor had recommended me for an advocacy training program. The caller said that my counselor told her that I would be a good candidate for this experience because I already have an extensive background in self-advocacy but she thought I would benefit from a group environment. I’m excited to see how God uses this in my life!

After 20 years, we finally have authentic representations in one of the biggest musicals in the world

This made me cry this morning when I saw it this morning and I’m tearing up as I’m typing this.  The disability community finally has physically authentic representation in one of the biggest musicals in the world! 21-year-old Marie needed to see this but never got the chance 25-year-old me needed to see a presentation but never got the chance.  I am part of the unseen generation of the disability community. Awesome to know that we are finally, being authentically represented and seen by the world. This is only the beginning. Next we need to encourage would give the musical to agree to making the Gershwin theater accessible to the house because people with disabilities deserve to work all facets of entertainment

My impact

What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

My dream for my impact on the world is that people would know who Jesus is and they would know that he wants a relationship with them. I would also love my website she reflect that people with disabilities are just like anybody else and we deserve to be treated as equals and not third-class citizens
