I remember the manual typewriter that I learned to type on. I had to get straight A’s(8th grade) to get my father to buy me one; I got sixteen A’s. I earned that typewriter The ribbon changing and carbon paper were a nightmare. When the electric typewriter came along, it was much better. Learning on the manual typewriter contributed to my speed. I could type 90 words a minute with no mistakes.
