Hi

Hey, I hope you’re having an awesome day I’m getting ready to record and publish episode 41 of encouragement notes.

I recently finished listening to the book share your stuff; I’ll go first by Laura Tremaine.   The book is a selection of questions that we can use to deepen our relationships, as well as Laura’s personal stories surrounding each question.
In my podcast episode, I’m going to go over the questions with you and possibly turn the questions into blog posts with my answer to each question

Say What?!! Seven words that change your life: No

Listen Now

The Big Idea

Behind every wise, No is a Better Yes

Three lies that Satan will tempt us with

1. I am what I have

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’ ”
Luke 4:3‭-‬4

Jesus quoting the old testament

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Deuteronomy 8:3

Action Step

Practice the three Blessings exercise: write down three things you are grateful for every day.

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

2. I Am what I Do

The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’ ”
Luke 4:5‭-‬8

3. I am what people think of me.

The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. For it is written: “ ‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ” When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
Luke 4:9‭-‬13

The first picture was taken a year ago tomorrow on my 38th birthday; the second picture was taken a few minutes ago.  Today I’m spending some time saying goodbye and thank you to year 38 of my life.  You were surprisingly eventful on a personal level.

This year made me think deeply about education and the fact that I probably didn’t need nine years of college to learn what I am drawn to.   This year also made me realize that no matter how stupid we think we sound, we need to speak what’s in our hearts.   Lastly, If it wasn’t for this year, it wasn’t for this year, I would have never started my podcast and discovered that I love it more than making videos

My Style and Essence Analysis

Elyssa’s Instagram

On January 12th, 2021, I had the opportunity to have a style and Essence analysis done by Elyssa of Elyssa Aesthetics.com

How my style journey started

I was a child of the 80s through and through.  My wardrobe essentials back then were:
  • Leg warmers
  • Leotards
  • Overalls
  • Ruffled socks
  • Pretty dresses
  • My hair accessories always matched the color of my clothes

Artistically at this time(musically)

My favorite singers were
  • Cindy Lauper
  • Tiffany
  • New Kids on The Block
  • Paula Abdul
  • Debbie Gibson
  • Gloria Estefan
  • Belinda Carlisle
  • The Bengals

  • Me Artistically Now

    1. Broadway

  • 3. Spanish Ballads

My current appearance

Body Style- Romantic (curvy)
Appearance of Maturity -How old or young I look.
According to Elyssa, I don’t have any prominent features that would make me appear older or younger than I am.  I’m right in the middle, so I have to be careful not to go too boldly in either direction with clothing and makeup.

What surprised me most, as I do not look or sound as young as I once thought, and to me, that is a good thing.

My Essence:
Moderate Energy
Friendly
Not extremely high tempo, but Zesty
Smiles when speaking

I took these notes on day two of the Ignite the family women’s Conference

Speaker: Todd Wilson: Dreams and Dream Killers

The Dreams that we have in our hearts are given to us by God

Things we need to know about dreams and dream killers

1.  God is big enough to kill the dumb dreams, those that are not part of his plan for you

2.  It’s our job to fan the dreams of the people we love

3.  People that kill your dreams admire people like you. So plug your ears to people around you and give your dream to God.

4. If the advice doesn’t fit, take it off.

5.  Dreamers are Rock Chuckers.

Speaker: Kathy Koch, (Cook)

Relationships

1. All healthy relationships are response-based.
2. In unhealthy relationships, responses aren’t returned

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

To overflow with abundant hope, how do I respond?

Get to know God and his character.
He is:

God holds Us close so we won’t get into trouble
We need near and distant hope.  God gives us both he gives us near hope for today and far distant hope for the future

Now, let me ask you something profound yet troubling. If you became believers because you trusted the proclamation that Christ is alive, risen from the dead, how can you let people say that there is no such thing as a resurrection? If there’s no resurrection, there’s no living Christ. And face it—if there’s no resurrection for Christ, everything we’ve told you is smoke and mirrors, and everything you’ve staked your life on is smoke and mirrors. Not only that, but we would be guilty of telling a string of barefaced lies about God, all these affidavits we passed on to you verifying that God raised up Christ—sheer fabrications, if there’s no resurrection. If corpses can’t be raised, then Christ wasn’t, because he was indeed dead. And if Christ weren’t raised, then all you’re doing is wandering about in the dark, as lost as ever. It’s even worse for those who died hoping in Christ and resurrection, because they’re already in their graves. If all we get out of Christ is a little inspiration for a few short years, we’re a pretty sorry lot. But the truth is that Christ has been raised up, the first in a long legacy of those who are going to leave the cemeteries

1 Corinthians 15:12‭-‬20

1. The call of comfort Mary Magdalene

But Mary stood outside the tomb weeping. As she wept, she knelt to look into the tomb and saw two angels sitting there, dressed in white, one at the head, the other at the foot of where Jesus’ body had been laid. They said to her, “Woman, why do you weep?” “They took my Master,” she said, “and I don’t know where they put him.” After she said this, she turned away and saw Jesus standing there. But she didn’t recognize him. Jesus spoke to her, “Woman, why do you weep? Who are you looking for?” She, thinking that he was the gardener, said, “Mister, if you took him, tell me where you put him so I can care for him.” Jesus said, “Mary.” Turning to face him, she said in Hebrew, “ Rabboni! ” meaning “Teacher!” Jesus said, “Don’t cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I ascend to my Father and your Father, my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went, telling the news to the disciples: “I saw the Master!” And she told them everything he said to her.

John 20:11‭-18

2. The call of commission -Peter

Jesus came back, “God bless you, Simon, son of Jonah! You didn’t get that answer out of books or from teachers. My Father in heaven, God himself, let you in on this secret of who I really am. And now I’m going to tell you who you are, really are. You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out.

Matthew 16:17‭-‬18

3. The call of conviction-Paul

All this time Saul was breathing down the necks of the Master’s disciples, out for the kill. He went to the Chief Priest and got arrest warrants to take to the meeting places in Damascus so that if he found anyone there belonging to the Way, whether men or women, he could arrest them and bring them to Jerusalem. He set off. When he got to the outskirts of Damascus, he was suddenly dazed by a blinding flash of light. As he fell to the ground, he heard a voice: “Saul, Saul, why are you out to get me?” He said, “Who are you, Master?” “I am Jesus, the One you’re hunting down. I want you to get up and enter the city. In the city you’ll be told what to do next.” His companions stood there dumbstruck—they could hear the sound, but couldn’t see anyone—while Saul, picking himself up off the ground, found himself stone-blind. They had to take him by the hand and lead him into Damascus. He continued blind for three days. He ate nothing, drank nothing.
