Author: Marie Nicole Zimmerle
I may have posted this before, but since it’s #diadelosmuertos im posting it again.
I started drinking coffee when I was 14. It was a relaxing treat that started at my Grandma’s house. I went to her house often, and every time I was there it was a treat
Our evenings consisted of watching Novellas and having a cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee, so every time I have my night time cup I think of her. I miss those nights.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
Your conscience shouldn’t be your guide because
1. Your conscience doesn’t tell you when you’re breaking God standards it only tells you when you are breaking your own.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Proverbs 4:23
2. Your conscience is being shaped by outside forces
A. Your upbringing
B. You culture
C. Your friends
Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
1 Corinthians 15:33
3. Your conscience isn’t always reliable
My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
1 Corinthians 4:4
It’s a great Red light
When your conscience tells you to stop you should stop
It’s a great yellow light
When it tells you to slow down then slow down
Its a lousy green light
Look to gods word for guidance

Seven years ago tonight, I saw Jersey Boys. On October 12th, when I saw the show for my second time at the Hollywood Pantages Theater, I was asked by one of the fellas in the castAre you going to see the show in San Diego?I told him no, and I thought I was telling the truth. My mom, aunt and I had tickets to a concert in San Diego the night before and yes we attended Jersey Boys at the Civic Theater.
I remember thinking that the show was wonderful as usual, but I also remember feeling so bad for the cast because the audience seemed to be a low energy group of people.
After the show, I had to go to the stage door to see the cast. Earlier that day I had tweeted one of the cast members to asked where the stage door was, and when I got to the stage door, the only cast member was the gentleman who played Frankie Valli. I was a bit embarrassed because I went to the show in a wheelchair, and I felt like this handsome gentleman looked at me funny, not in a mean way, but in a way that saidWhat happened? I saw you walking two weeks ago. That embarrassment lasted only a few minutes. I got out of the chair, stood up with my walker and this picture was taken. After I got back in my chair I kissed him goodbye and walked away with a smile.
Today I set a timer on my phone for five minutes and did a mirror meditation exercise that I was taught and asked to do as part of the #Becoming Challenge I participated in this past week.
I set my phone timer for five minutes and prayed that God would show me who I am in his eyes.
I know that to truly believe that I am the strong woman he created me to be, I will have to do this exercise more than once. As well as hang on to what he says about me in his word. The Bible. I recommend that you try this if you have time.
Do you have three people in your life that you can trust to speak the truth about your life?
This was a question that was included in the study notes for this week’s life group meeting. It’s a question that I am still thinking about. My automatic answer would be No. The reason that my answer is no isn’t because I think my family is bad, it’s because my family is the group.of people that is around me the majority of the time and in some cases when the same people are always around you, you tend to grow numb to their opinions, especially in the scenarios where you did not ask for an opinion.
It’s for this reason that I believe that everyone needs a trusted group of friends outside their immediate circle, simply because it’s easier to process what has been said because you don’t have to go home with them.
Having someone speak the truth in your life is a tough pill to swallow so it’s important that you trust them to give you sound advice.
There have been a few times in my life where I can honestly the truth was delivered a lot sweeter and it was easier to process even though it had to do with an issue that my parents were concerned about.
The serious Issue:
I didn’t walk away from a painful relationship until my pastor’s wife and my best friend from church told me that I wasn’t acting like the woman God meant for me to be and that I needed to walk away.
The minor situation
I didn’t start paying attention to the way that I carry myself until
Amy Landino
Rachel Walker
And a few other women walked into my life via YouTube
So to the loved ones of people that may need to hear the truth, here. Is a dose of truth for you.
Not all Truth is yours to speak, so step back and take a breath it’s going to be ok
I’ve had a great time for the past two days participating in a Facebook group called the Becoming challenge.
Yesterday we learned about growth through positive self-talk and breathing technics in order to improve our health. We also talked about how much a smile can change your out look on your day and your life.
- Know your stuff, be knowledgeable about what you want to contribute to a situation
- Be intentional. This sounds like number 1, but it is essential to remember that you cannot break all silences. Don’t speak for the sake of making noise
- The clipboard test: walk as if you are supposed to be in the space you are in. Hold your shoulders back and pick your head up.
- Don’t be afraid to say I don’t know; it could be a chance for someone to teach you something
- Remember that people are just people, not superheroes in disguise.
- Be clear about what you want and ask for it.
- Dress the part. We should dress the way we want to feel.
- Do your research, when you are going somewhere, try to find information about people attending the event so you can know a bit about them and come up.with interesting questions to ask.
- Be ok with making mistakes
- Practice practice practice.
Where did this Dumb Thing Come From?
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. Matthew 7:1-6 NIV
Tolerance used to mean: The Right to Be Wrong
Today Tolerance means: Everybody is right and Nobody is wrong.
What does it mean to judge
- To Evaluate, choose or determine. This is how we use judgement everyday.
- To condemn or pass Final verdict. This is the definition the Lord calls use to stay away from.
Memory Verse
Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”
John 7:24
Dangers of Judging wrongly
- You’re not the final judge God is.
- Judgment has a boomerang effect
- It’s hypothetical, don’t judge someone on something that you might be struggling with to.
How to Judge Rightly
- Carefully
- Biblically
- Humbly
See what God has to say about things in his word. If God does not say anything in his word about something you think is an issue let it go. If you know for sure that God says something his word about an issue. Say something, but hate the sin and love the sinner.
And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
When Bad things happen:
The good news- Everything happens for a reason
- The Bad news it’s not always the reason we hoped for.
A promise with a Premise
- In all things, God works for Good
- Not all things are Good
A Promise with a Premise
And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. To claim the promise of Romans 8:28, you have to fulfill the premise
- Be a member of God’s family
When Bad things happen:
- A bad thing might become a good thing. God may turn situations around for good.
- A bad thing might be a bad thing. We live in a fallen world, and sin has consequences.
The Smart Thing
Whatever happens, obey God.Two things to remember
- If you are a follower of Jesus, this world is as close to hell as you are ever going to get.
- If you are not a follower of Jesus, this world is as close to heaven.as you are ever going to get.
