answering my listeners questions

When I’m in the Valley

From Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus for the elders of the church. When they arrived, he said to them: “You know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I came into the province of Asia. I served the Lord with great humility and with tears and in the midst of severe testing by the plots of my Jewish opponents. You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus. “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Acts 20:17‭-‬24

Three Truths About the Valley

1. The Valley is not a sign of judgment

3. Virtue is not in the valley virtue is in my faithfulness in God

Why should I Trust God in the Valley?

  1. God understands my suffering
  2. God is for me and with me
  3. The Valley is just part of the path the shepherd is using to lead me home

What happens when I stop trusting The Goodness of God

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? 1 Corinthians 4:7

1. I start cleaning credit for God’s gifts

2. I stopped asking God for help

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11:13

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

3.  I stopped trusting God in difficult times.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

Romans 5:3‭-‬6

Latest podcast episode

I recorded an episode of my podcast today, and these were my notes

  1. No matter how we voted, its time to stop talking about the election and start praying for our country
  2. The election was not stolen. God gave people the right to vote and the votes were properly counted and reported
  3. I did not vote for Trump because I believe he is a disrespectful person. How could an executive leader willing mock and disrespect people? It’s not the proper and mature way to carry yourself no matter who you are.
  4. If you do not like the way the election turned out then you need to Respectfully use your voice for change
  5. The Election is over Please respect our new administration

Let’s talk about Style

I began my style journey in 2018. My reason for starting this was that I wanted to be viewed differently and I wanted to view myself differently.

I have been blessed to find 5 women via YouTube who have influenced my style for the better. All of the women I’m going to mention have YouTube Channels.

I’m going to mention them by name and mention something that has stuck with me that I’ve learned from them.

1. Amy Landino- put real pants on

2. Dearly Bethany- Tuck in your shirt and roll up your sleeves

3. Franny Matthews – Dress your lines. Love your body

Audrey Coyne choose personal style not what’s in fashion because fashion always changes.

Rachel Walker -dress in a classic/ classy way – no holes in your pants

Noel: A tribute to a 7 month friendship

In 2003 I was blessed to meet my best friend, Noel Williams. She was 24 and I was 21. Our friendships began one day when we were both waiting for our rides home; we took the same van service to and from campus. We would eventually start sharing rides to and from school because we lived so close to each other.

We had the best conversations while we were waiting for our rides. We talked about us. views on life, and the fact that we saw the things that most people would consider setbacks and disability we saw as simply as a different way of living life. We agreed that the word disability should only be applied to a vehicle that was broken down or without Gas, not to people who were alive and breathing. We also spoke about the ways that we wanted to change the world. We wanted to use our voices to make the use of equipment a “normal” part of society. The length of our relationship was only 7/months long. My last memory of my dear friend was the week before Thanksgiving break. We shared a ride home that day, and on the way to Noel’s house, I asked her what she was doing for the holiday. She shared with me that she was going to be visiting Indiana with her family and that. She would be back on December 5th.

My first day back to school, which also was the day of my theatre final. I was nervous but I was ready. I had to perform a monologue in which I was a mother of an ungrateful kid. My instructor asked me to dig deep and show emotion.

When I got to school that morning, there was a woman named Francine waiting for me where I was going to be dropped off. She said, “Excuse me, are you a friend of Noel Williams? Yes, I said. Did she come back from her vacation yet? I need to tell you that she passed away two days ago.’ I was in shock when she told me the news. I went to class and did my scene and cried my eyes out.

I’ll always be grateful to my friend and what she taught me.
